Here’s a music video especially dedicated to “few” friends of mine (you know who you are
) whose been “advising” me to get a girlfriend (or potential wife). *hahahaha* I think the lyric speaks for itself. *hehehehe*
Oppie Andaresta - Single Happy
Mereka bilang aku pemilih dan kesepian
Terlalu keras menjalani hidup
Beribu nasehat dan petua yang diberikan
Berharap hidupku bahagia
Chorus:
Aku baik baik saja
Menikmati hidup yang aku punya
Hidupku sangat sempurna
I’m single and very happy
Mengejar mimpi mimpi indah
Bebas lakukan yang aku suka
Berteman dengan siapa saja
I’m single and very happy
Mereka bilang sudah saatnya karena usia
Untuk mencari sang kekasih hati
Tapi kuyakin akan datang pasangan jiwaku
Pada waktu dan cara yang indah

Sorry for haven’t been posting lately peeps, I was quite occupied working on something for the past month which didn’t turn out well. To MsCurious, yes Leo forced me to update the blog by tickling my nose with his furry tail during my sleeps. *GgGggRrr*

My no. for the triathlon
Anyways, a couple of us will be participating at tomorrow’s (01.03.09) Brunei 3rd National Triathlon. Me, PNG and his cousin are participating in the team relay event while Dodo and anakpanyu will be participating in the individual. anakpanyu will also have a team joining the team event. We all went for the briefing yesterday and we notice that apart from us, most of the participants are either from the armed forces, police forces or national athletes! And they all looked really serious about it too.
While people like me will just be participating for the fun of it, hence we named our team ‘Chippendales‘ *hahahaha* But don’t expect us to strip or anything cos there’s no chance of that happening no matter how much Dodo would want us to

Sefli (Brunei’s No. 1 Runner) with Me, Dodo & anakpanyu in the background during the triathlon briefing yesterday. PNG behind the lens.
The qualifying time for finishing this triathlon is 3-hrs & 30-mins. Anything beyond that will be disqualified and swept off the road, literally! By few buses and trucks so I have a daunting task of finishing the last lap of the triathlon (10K Run) before being swept off by those trucks. That road from SupaSave Mabohai up to LegCo Building will be a major challenge *salute-sign-here* for me.
So wish me luck people. PS. I’ll be running with an injured right knee so I’ll TRY to finish the 10K run in 80mins.

Also tomorrow Ministry of Finance will be hosting a charity bazaar to raise fund for the recent victims of floods and landslides as well as to help those innocent people in Gaza. The event will start with a 3K walk-a-thon at 7.00am in the morning which I might join before I go down to the stadium for the triathlon followed by the bazaar which starts at 8.00am till 4.00pm in the afternoon. So please come and support this charitable event - other than interesting items which will be on sale at bery low price you can also watch movies, play video games, fun-fair games, food etc. etc.
We made a request on Brunei’s finest cartoonist (I quote Mr. BR) - Cuboi @ http://cuboiart.blogspot.com/ for a humorous sketch of the recent fuss on Zakat whereby 1/3 of Bruneians (if I’m not mistaken) suddenly became “poor”. Of which I personally think most of these cases are in debt for purchasing things which they can’t really afford and are not necessary. Personally I don’t think these people deserve the surplus Zakat monies as they’ll just tend to use this to purchase more unnecessary things such as a fourth luxury european car or a fifth Samsung 60″ LCD TV for the toilet in the guestroom. Probably. Hey! Maybe I’m eligible to receive Zakat as well, I’ll just get that new Audi A4 and wahlaa! I’m in debt!
Anyways, I just find it hilarious and thanks to Cuboi for willing to entertain our request for this funny funny sketch and it even came out in Borneo Bulletin! Awesome!
This is the sketch Cuboi has done for us. Click on pic for the source.

The path of the Moon across the sun during the partial eclipse.
Bandar Seri Begawan – People in Brunei will have the opportunity to witness a rare partial eclipse of the sun on Monday afternoon, January 26.
The natural phenomenon will begin when the moon made its first contact with the sun at exactly 4:42 p.m. local time.
Send Your Solar Eclipse Photos
A simple method would be to place a solar filter infront of your camera’s lens. If you have captured it on your mobile phones, digi-camera or even with your PSP, this society would love to have them shared in this website’s gallery. Simply sumbit and attached your photos via email: pabd@bruneiastronomy.org
Kindly, please include your name, location and some quotes about your photos. Or you may provide the url link to your photos if you have posted it on the web.
A solar eclipse is infrequent because it occurs only when the moon passes directly between the sun and the earth. During the partial eclipse, people on earth will see the moon blocks a fraction of the sun’s light.
The maximum eclipse will come at 5:54 pm where by about 84% of the Sun disk is obscured by the moon. The 1 hour and 48 minutes celestial event will remain viewable until sunset, 6.30 p.m.
Public are advised not to look at the sun directly at any time during the eclipse as it may damage the eyes. A solar eclipse can be viewed safely with proper techniques such as by using a pin-hole camera, a telescope equipped with a solar filter and by solar projection through a binocular.
The Astronomical Society of Brunei Darussalam in liaison with the Survey Department will hold a free public eclipse-watching at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Shopping Complex on January 26, from 4 pm until 6.30 pm.
Another eclipse of the sun will set to occur on July 22 this year.
Please click more for further info of the eclipse.
