Here are the winners meow paw picked of the Kit Kat Peanut Butter Giveaway contest. Meow hope Master will get some more stuff for meow to giveaway next time *PuRrRrrr*
Before I go on the BIM ‘08 raceday itself, let me share with you a story about our fellow runner PNG who me and Dodo would say had one of the worst case scenario before any race.
So PNG (w/ missus) and Dodo came down to K.K. by plane from Brunei around midnight before the race (7am). As they waited for their luggage, PNG’s luggage never came out! All of his running gears were in there. After about half an hour later they were told by the airport staff that PNG’s luggage never made on board the flight, his luggage was still in Brunei! *eeek* The next best thing that RBA could do was to send it over the next flight which was in the morning around 8am, mind you that our race starts at 7am.
With NO running gears (stress-o-meter: 8/10), NO stores selling running stuff that are open after midnight (stress-o-meter: 9/10) with only few hours left before the race (stress-o-meter: MAX) and with this would be PNG’s first race (stress-o-meter: off the scale), what would you do? Go…

Sorry for the late posting peeps, just got home on Sunday FINALLY! *haha* We (Me and S.P) were stranded in K.K. cos we missed our flight last Tuesday but decided to extend our stay till Sunday instead due to unforeseen circumstances *LoL* More on that in the coming posts, I will try to post as much as I can from this trip before I go off to the land down under and also the lion city for work next week. For now I’ll share with you pics from the Pasta Party hosted by Sabah Tourism on the day before the first Borneo International Marathon 2008 which was held in the multipurpose hall of Likas Stadium. They was great food (free courtesy of Sabah Tourism) for carbo loading, interactive cultural show (video below) and chance to mingle with fellow marathoners. Here are few pics from the event:
Here’s where we register and pick-up the race kits for myself, Dodo and PNG since they would only arrive in K.K. the midnight before the race.
Picking up our free Adidas running vest, not bad huh?
Inside the hall there’s a booth selling souvenirs by Sabah Tourism.
Didn’t know C.C is from Sabah
Catwoman from Singapore. She was running the Half-Marathon (21K) and YES in this outfit!
Z.M and Kenny of kennysia.com arguably one of the top blogger in Malaysia with averaging around 14,000+ hits daily! I go to his blog cos he got lotsa pics of hot girls there *shame* He said “Yeah, there’s a lot!” - We’ll see about that dude! *haha* Oh yeah, he ran the Half-Marathon!
Sefli and few other Bruneians sat in front of us. I guess we Bruneians stick close together wherever we are huh? *haha* Sefli came 5th overall in the Full-Marathon (42K) category with his personal best time of 2hr 41mins 12secs.
The queue at the Italian food buffet table.
Italian food provided by Bella Italia which I think is owned by the same owner of Villa Mauri.
My carbo loading food which I think I burned aftwerward during our 30mins walk looking for taxi which never came. *haha*
S.P came for the free food *hahahaha*
S.P sad for being stranded at Likas Square which we thought we would find taxi. But thanks to J.B who came to save us, this would not be the only time he saved us *hahahaha* Thanks J.B
Below is the video of one of the cultural show where the marathoners participated in the traditional Sabah dance:

Me and PNG had our final preparation for the Borneo International Marathon 2008 (10-K event) yesterday by running 8 kilometres under an hour which is not bad So theoretically we could finish the 10-K this Sunday and on our target of under 70mins we would only know on the day Below is the 8-K route if any of you plans to have a go. I’ll be flying off to KK later today with S.P while PNG and Dodo will be joining us tomorrow evening. Wish us luck for our run! Will be back next week PS.
